Our Story

As we entered the lockdowns at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we found ourselves craving connection more than ever. We wanted a way to send some love to our family and friends, whom we could not see physically, but were thinking about each and every day. That's why we started choloket - to send edible works of art to our loved ones. To say we care. To say thank you. To sweeten their day. And to let you do the same.
 
Our founder, Toronto-based chocolatier Aleeza Ladhani, and her sister Salima brought together various parts of their cultural identity and educational backgrounds in STEM, business, and the arts to create the artisanal chocolate company. The genuine love, extreme care, attention to detail, and creative artistry is evident in each chocolate bonbon. From the science behind achieving a crisp shell, to the combination of unique flavours inspired by the East and West, to the hand-painted designs, this artisanal process takes two full days to complete. It's the definition of artisanal chocolate, and we hope you enjoy our bonbons as much as we enjoy creating them for you!
